Studying: Revelation 1-4
Memorizing: Romans 1:1-24
Thoughts: Good
I'll confess, this week slap wore me out. I just got back from preaching at a "youth" fellowship here in St. Petersburg. "Youth" over here means roughly 18-30. I had intended to preach in Russian tonight. I had even typed up the sermon and everything and had gotten our friend Luda to translated some of the more difficult sections into Russian for me. Well, about 4PM this afternoon humility hit me. It was just not coming together. Some of the words were so unfamiliar to me that I couldn't help but stumble over them every time I got to them. So I called Luda. She graciously and cheerfully agreed to translate for me. Looking back, I'm very glad I did. The subject was just too complicated and the length of the sermon too long for me to just read some prepared text. I needed to be able to express my thoughts, and right now expressing my thoughts in Russian is on about a 4-year-old's level. I'm not disappointed. Yes I can't wait for the day until I can freely express myself in this language without putting it through a meat grinder, but the work I did this week trying to prepare the message in Russian was very beneficial. I was thankful that I was able to introduce the sermon in Russian close it in prayer on my own. One step at a time I suppose.
I believe the Lord really blessed the preaching though. I preached from Proverbs 2:1-6 about pursing wisdom. I believe the message was well understood. I hope perhaps to have more opportunities to meet these young adults again.

Sounds like you used "wisdom" is how you handled everything. We're thankful all went well and were praying the whole time.
