Studying: Isaiah 1-4
Memorizing: Romans 1:1-29
Thoughts: Good
My grandmother is in the hospital right now. She is 90 years old and just had a heart attack the other day. To be blunt, the family is making difficult decisions right now, and it appears that they are simply going to try to send her home and "make her comfortable."
With this comes some decisions for us. Both Cristy and I feel it is important that I make it back to be with my family briefly should she pass away. We have several options along these lines. Thankfully we have a fair amount of SkyMiles with Delta. It used to be that Delta only flew out of Moscow, which would mean that I would have to take a train down there in order to fly back to the States. But I called Delta tonight and Delta now has two partners that fly out of St. Petersburg. This would be a lot more convenient. It all depends on if there are "reward seats" available on these flights.
So with all of that information let me request these prayers;
1. That the Lord would ease any pain that she is in and take her when it is his will.
2. Comfort for my family during this difficult time. Decisions have to be made, and care must be rendered. Also, none of us know the day nor the hour. We may find that weeks and months might go by still.
3. That if I have to fly back, that I could fly out of SP and not have to go through Moscow, and most importantly, that I'd actually be able to make it back in time to be there for a funeral.
I know the future is already planned and in the Lord's hands, but yet we are still called upon to make prudent plans and to be proactive.
