Studying: Isaiah 28, Psalm 78
Memorizing: Romans 1:1-32
Thoughts: Good
I was feeling pretty sick today, so I stayed home and rested. It appears that Cristy is coming down with the stuff too. We're just praying that Isaiah doesn't get it. Since he stays on a continual dosage of antibiotic every day to keep him from getting bladder infections, he tends to stay free from other illnesses also.
In other news that's really exciting, I was "Skyping" with Jim Capaldo on the internet this evening. If you don't know what Skype is, it's an online communication program that allows you to both chat and talk live with people if you have a fast enough connection. Jim is InterAct Ministry's Russia field director, and he lives out in Tuva, Siberia. Needless to say, he doesn't have a high speed connection, so we were just talking back and forth to each other. But he told me about something exciting that happened the other day.
As it turns out there's a local doctor from the same area out there that is a Christian. He has, for some time, been trying to reach Jim to meet with him. This doctor, along with the help of another doctor, have a joint vision to open two medical facilities in Tuva. One is a cancer treatment center. The other is a rehabilitation center for disabled children! Well, our jaws hit the floor when he said that. To top it all off, they are in the process of trying to get their organization registered and wanted to meet with Jim about the possibility of inviting foreign workers to come and help. Jim is supposed to meet with them again on Wednesday for further discussions.
We don't know what lies ahead, of course, but it's definitely no accident that all of this seems to be coming together. There's lots of potential for work and partnership here.
