"Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you, For the LORD is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him." -Isaiah 30:18, NASB

I spent some time thinking on this verse a good bit this morning, that the Lord longs to be gracious to his people and to have compassion on them. What a wonderful thought to have. God is not waiting on high for me to make a mistake so that he can punish me and strike me. He's not looking at me anticipating my sin (which I'm undoubtedly going to do). But he is longing and waiting to pour out his mercy upon him. I have only but to look to him.
